Senior A Result

On the first day of play between suburbs and Star A, a difficult decision had to be made on whether to bat or bowl. This choice became redundant when the skipper lost the toss yet again and Star was sent into field.

Star made a good fist of it to start with stu pilling taking 3/4 off his first 7 overs. Burbs were 69/5 at one stage but went on to make 178 due to no. 9 scoring 48 and Cam Coleman (opening) scoring 78.

Bowlers of note were:
Pilling 3/38 from 14
Nick 3/40 from 8
Brownie 3/51 from 9

With Shaun Blackbourn cleaning up the tail with 1/6 off 2 overs.

On the batting note, Star made a poor fist of it, being bowled out for 145. The only batters of note were Zeb Walden scoring 80 and carrying his bat throughour the innings, and Gareth Hayman scoring 23.

With 19 overs left in the day, burbs went into bat again and ended up being 48/6 at the close of play. With one of their batsman missing next week they are effectively 48/7 (lead of 86) with star still in the hunt for outright victory.

Peiter Vander 2/8 from 5
Rob Brown 3/17 from 5
Shaun Blackbourne 1/8 from 4

Those of you who have not yet paid all of your subs, it's time to get on with it!

Subs increase by $30 at Xmas time from $110/$140 to $140/$170.

Because the Treasurer is such a good bugger he has agreed to hold the subs at the pre-xmas rates until the end of training on the 10th.

Get your subs to Mark Donnelly or if you would prefer to pay electronically, e-mail this address and we'll send you the account details.

Cheers
