Star Seeks to Become Famous

The club has snaffled a fantastic opportunity to become famous.

At the Two ODIs held at Seddon Park this season Star Varsity will be in charge of the large mechanical scoreboard.

  • The final match of the Sri Lankan series 9th January 2007.
  • The final match of the Chappell-Hadlee series 20th February 2007.

There are obviously many ways that this could shoot the club to fame including:

  • The great scoreboard fire of 2007.
  • The great scoreboard wet t-shirt contest of 2007.
  • The great scoreboard brawl of 2007.
  • Tricking the Aussies into leaving when they still need 6 to win.
  • Lobbing water balloons at people we don't like.

Should be a lot of fun.

Following On

Allright lads the CB has been timed out a couple of times over the last couple of weeks and I've missed all sorts of interesting going's on.

Firstly, the 2-Day competition has been a bit of a damp squib with only three days play (out of a possible six).

The short boards are to follow, (where I have 'em) but:
  • The B's have been their brutal selves, except when a whole bunch of As chipped in to help them out. (They still won, but only on appeal after the Pencil Necks cocked up the scorebooks.)
  • The As have had a strong start taking an outright win off Te Rapa and a very strong win against Old Boys in a 50 over match.
  • The Prems have struggled a bit, but the performances are on the improve. Captain Billington has been a rock - scoring runs all over the shop.

Bs Short Board 16/12/06

'B's. 1 dayer vs Eastern Suburbs White.

Star V - 308/9 (Sean Mulcahy 107, Ferdie Fourie 72, opening partnership 195).

Eastern Suburbs White 161 (Pieter Geldenhuis 4/25).

A strong win over a side possessing a good bowling attack & a side that should be thereabouts come finals time.

Hamstrings Mulcahy Pops the Cherry.

No not that. (well maybe that as well - how could we know?)

Sean Mulcahy claimed the honour of the first Century of the 2006/2007 season, smashing 107 off 30 overs in the Bs win over Eastern Suburbs white.

Not noted as a power hitter, the scoring pace surprised everybody.

The hair, it must be the hair.

On ya Hamstrings.

Club Night this Saturday

All,

To celebrate Xmas and our new association with the Riv, we are having a BBQ there this Saturday night.

Meat and Salads will be laid on, and the beer will flow like, well beer.

Kick off is at 7:30, it would be great to see you all there so make an effort to come on down.

Cheers

Star
