31 October A's vs Marist

Another fantastic day for cricket today. We lost the toss and they elected to bat, we would have bowled anyway so no big loss. Dave and Mark opened up with the ultimatum that they couldn't bowl any more than 3 wides each... that didn't last long as both bowlers filled that quota within their first two overs. All the bowlers bowled well but 26 wides is still far too many. Obviously a bit of work still needed at practise.

Marist started slowly and lost regular wickets so struggled to get any momentum. We ended up bowling them out for 155 with around 10 overs to go. The wickets were shared around with every bowler used picking up 1 or 2. Well done to Jess who beat the bat on numerous occassions and should have picked up more than his 2 wickets.

Toby and Ryan opened the batting and looked good until Toby was out for 6. Myself and Ryan then had a good partnership with Ryan out for a well made 32. Aaron then joined me and looked very shaky to say the least in the first few overs, but after a few glorious cut shots, looked a million bucks. I was out for 27, Josh got a first ball duck (again), and Phil must have made an enemy of the umpire because he was adjudged run out when he was well in. At that stage we were looking a bit shaky but some cool heads from Aaron who scored his first every half century with 54* and J B who played a fantastic supporting role making 14* saw us home with 12 overs to spare.

Player of day points
Aaron 3
Jess 2
J B 1
