Contrasting Wins for Prems/Blues

Well done to the Prems who ground out a win over Melville on Saturday.

The Prems were bundled out for 152 on a slow deck at Jansen Park, Raj Korde top scored with 44 not out.

In the field the boys restricted Melville to 148 all out in the 50th over. Melville needed 8 to win in the final over bowled by Bobby Tagore. 1, 1, NO BALL, 1, OUT. (Geez Bobby.)

Understand that Billy is running fielding trainings all week....

One pleasing aspect of the win was the performance of the bowling performances of youngsters Joel Thompson (10 overs 3/21) and Mike Wiltshire (10 overs 3/22).

The Division 1 Blues pummelled the hell out of Eastern Suburbs at Clyde Park. Having won the toss (Three in a row for the skipper) Star put Burbs into bat and rolled them for 81. There were 3 wickets each for Malcolm Seecup, Dan Hennebry and Mike Pratt with 5 dismissals (catches) for Darryl Gibbs.

In reply, the blues were untroubled in reaching 82 in 12 overs. Rob Brown carried his bat for 30 and Darryl Gibbs continued his great form with a rapid 27 not out.

Division I Red Result when we hear it.
